So it finally got warm enough to put the 2 last coats of paint on. It has 2 coats of rust neutralizing primer, and 4 coats of hammered AL. Got it finished last night. Going to re assemble today and tomorrow.
Got a giant crock pot full of home made chili, stop on by...
Theres an interactive map on our site with directions/ address. _________________ 85 Diet K5 truggy on 43's, soon to have spray.

Its just about re assembled. Just have to put in the rear seat and pull pall. Im amazed at the difference some paint and detail work did. I think its turning out real good. Now if I just had 5,000 laying around to link/ C/O/ bypass shock it......
I cant beleive its almost "done". 4 fucking years!!
Ill try to fix the cam and get some pics later on. Its dark even with 8 halogen and HPS lights going.
Thanks to everyone whos helped, and to everyone whos sent us referrals (A/C work), especially Redrum! I owe you a bottle sir. Whats your flavor, cause they dont sell "Redrum" around here? Captain Morgan?
Also, thanks to Jim (Yatehay), JJ (Hardline), Scott Skarzenski (Scott-885), Scott Lyday (Linked BKO), Tepco Glazing Co., and everyone else who has sent us work! W/o yall I wouldnt even be able to afford this project, let alone all my other ones. _________________ 85 Diet K5 truggy on 43's, soon to have spray.

Finally completely done re assembling it.
I avoided the mud as best I could and crept along, but I had to go ride. Just went across the street and putted around.
It wont be that clean for long. If we get a decent amount of snow I'm going wheeling. _________________ 85 Diet K5 truggy on 43's, soon to have spray.

Hey Kieth not ragging on your ride it looks very cool, but on the pic second from the bottom it looks like your shock is binding up(bowed out)? Does it need limit straps? _________________ "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Good eye! The lower shock mounts make them do that. We thought we would be fine with them like that but apparently the axle moves more than we planned. Ill have to move them 90 deg to allow the lower bushing to work. Unless they make some sort of orbit eye bushing for shocks, lol. _________________ 85 Diet K5 truggy on 43's, soon to have spray.

Damn dude..... That things looks bad ass!!
Thanks bro. I spent a ton of time doing the "little things". Got a few more things to do, but none that keep it from wheeling.
When I went to move it, it slid over and forward and got real twisted up. Fucking Kodak POS camera ran dead though, so no pics of the good shit. I bet that front shock was pissed! lol
Gonna get a short (13" tall so I can keep some rear visibility) marine cooler that can be strapped down w/o going over the lid. I hate undoing ratchet straps every time I need a drink. Gonna get an illuminated switch label setup so I can see what Im switching at night, lol. Gotta install a map light so the pass can see the map on the dash at night. Need to order the water proof map case thats gonna replace the bungee cord that currently holds the map. Need to hunt down the matching water can (matches the contour of the floor board cut, and matches the gas can). Also need to get the MSD HEI ignition module that has an integrated rev limit. I would run a normal msd box, but Im trying to keep THIS motor as stupid simple as I can. When I drop the 550 horse TPI 383 (old IROC-Z motor, replaced by LS6) in it Ill have to run an MSD w/ an adjustable timing control. But I plan on wheeling it till this motor goes or till I get bored. _________________ 85 Diet K5 truggy on 43's, soon to have spray.

Looks really good, killer tube work man
Thanks! We spent a ton of time tearing shit out and staring at it. The A pillar back to the B pillar bars got redone 2 or 3 times. You can see the changes in the A pillar where it connects to the B pillar from the first pics. We tried to make it look right and were taking lines from a few diff buggies, while trying to make them different at the same time. Im happy with it.
Hopefully it wont look stupid with skins on it. Im thinking Ill just keep that canvas top I kinda rigged at the NYE run, and cut it to fit perfect. I was going to run an AL top, but theres so much damn tube above my head I think Ill be fine. Unless theres another reason I should run an AL top? _________________ 85 Diet K5 truggy on 43's, soon to have spray.
